Almond Butter and Jelly Smoothie

I always jumpstart my day with a smoothie. It is so easy to make and is a healthy “fast-food” especially for busy weekday mornings.  I do tend to make the smoothies that I love, over and over again.  This Almond Butter and Jelly Smoothie has been in my breakfast making repertoire for many many years.

The berry mix is loaded with antioxidants and is also high in fiber. Berries are also known to be good for your skin.  We all want to eat food that is good for our skin!  Berries are known to fight inflammation.  So this is a great post work out meal to help those muscles heal.  Bananas are great to add in just about every smoothie because they are so creamy and delicious!  They also provide so many health benefits such as potassium, manganese, and a great source of vitamin C. Almond butter is a great source of good fats, fiber, and protein.  Almond butter is a wonderful source of vitamin E. It also contains magnesium which helps with improving blood flow throughout our veins.  There are so many nutritious ingredients in this smoothie that make this a great way to kick start your day!

Ingredients

1 cup frozen berry mix
1 banana
1 tablespoon chia/flax/hempseed mix
1 scoop of protein powder
1 tablespoon almond butter
1/4 cup dry rolled oats
1 cup non-dairy milk (use more to make more liquidy)

Combine all ingredients in a high-speed blender.  Serve and Enjoy!
